<p>It&#8217;s rare for a new restaurant to open in London and become an instant classic, but that&#8217;s the deal with Lilibet&#8217;s which is already on a par with iconic venues like the Wolseley. The name&#8217;s a nod to the late Queen Elizabeth II (affectionately known as Lilibet) who was born at the address 17 Bruton Street, and the maximalist decor and sumptuous seafood menu are certainly fit for royalty. Great to see a £29 set lunch menu, which includes sea bream with green olive tapenade and apple pie, there&#8217;s also a raw bar if you fancy oysters and fizz and a marble cocktail bar with pink seats, the perfect place to sip a gin and Dubonnet (the Queen&#8217;s favourite tipple). </p>

<p>One of our favourite buildings in London &#8211; Sir George Gilbert Scott’s Grade I-listed Gothic Revival masterpiece &#8211; houses one of the grandest dining rooms, and Hawksmoor have moved in. Hawksmoor needs no introduction &#8211; there are already seven branches of the upmarket steak and seafood restaurant spread across the city &#8211; however this latest location is exceptional with the addition of a beautiful Martini Bar, just the place to sip and sup before setting off for Paris on Eurostar. <p>Mayfair&#8217;s restaurant scene is hotting up (literally) this month with the launch of Turkish open-fire&nbsp;Chargal. Created by Serdar Demir, the three-storey joint opens on <strong>11 Dec</strong> on Berkeley Street and we’re looking forward to swapping mince pies for mezze. The mouth-watering menu includes red bream ceviche, pistachio lamb cutlets and chocolate-aged wagyu. Yum. </p>

<p>We’d like to introduce you to&nbsp;this gorgeous new botanical-inspired lounge, which has just opened at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. When you need a break from your Xmas shopping, take a load off here and indulge in the very pretty Afternoon Tea (£60) including beetroot-cured smoked salmon sandwiches, star anise and orange zest scones and chocolate eclairs. Add a glass of fizz, you&#8217;ve earned it. </p>

<p>And finally, there&#8217;s a sexy new Italian trattoria on the corner of Sloane Square by Martin Kuczmarkski and the team behind The Dover in Mayfair. Open from breakfast through to supper, it&#8217;s an all-day affair which is a good job because this is a place you&#8217;ll want to linger. And the food? Delicious, comforting carbs: think tortellini in brodo and a sure-to-go-viral £25 lasagne. Definitely a great place for a date night. </p>
