<p>Love Spanish food? Then say Hola to recently-opened Legado in Montacute Yards where you can have your fill of Andalusian gazpacho, grilled octopus and Iberian pork ribs. The second solo restaurant of Spanish chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho (she was also the brains behind popular Sabor in Mayfair) has a menu that&#8217;s all about celebrating regional Spanish cuisine, and there&#8217;s also a laidback taberna where you can snack on tapas and pintxos while sipping a sherry and soaking up the atmosphere. Muy bien. </p>

<p>Portuguese cuisine is having a moment in London (bifana&#8217;s are THE sandwich everyone&#8217;s chomping and posting on Insta), so it&#8217;s a great time for The Macbeth to reopen with a Portuguese restaurant. You might know the century-old boozer as a live music venue (the likes of Florence + The Machine have played there in the past), but now it has got a new owner, new look (oak bar, wood floors, red ceiling, restored Victorian mural) and a whole new menu &#8211;  think dishes like snail rice, roasted rabbit and yes, bifana &#8211; served until 11pm. </p>

<p>More Spanish fare to get excited about, this time in the West End where just-opened Pintxito is serving drinks and bites inspired by the cosy pintxo bars of Bilbao and San Sebastián. Perfect for those evenings when you want to catch up with friends but not necessarily sit down for a massive supper, here you can catch up on gossip over a glass of sparkling Txakolis and delicious small plate pintxos, like fresh crab with espelette peppers, chorizo talos and not forgetting Basque cheesecake. Btw, check out the &#8216;learn Basque language&#8217; section on the restaurant&#8217;s website, handy for impressing a date when you&#8217;re ordering. </p>

<p>When we heard a Scandinavian party restaurant was coming to London we were intrigued. The antithesis of starchy fine dining and already a hit in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo, the latest Punk Royale opening in an 18th Century building on Sackville Street is a UK-first and promises to be as wild as the Scandi outposts. What to expect? Part performance, part club, part dinner party, with unexpected dishes, smoke machines and banging tunes. One of their signature dishes is a caviar bump (caviar licked off your hand with a shot of vodka) and there&#8217;s also talk of edible paper. More intriguing is the fact that critics actually rave about the quality of the food and the website hints at Michelin sniffing around&#8230;<strong>Opens 12 September</strong>. </p>

<p>Ok it&#8217;s not new, but this glamorous, historic hotel restaurant is relaunches on <strong>15 September </strong>when it will reveal a new chef (Jacob Keen-Downs from Gold in Notting Hill), look and team. Apparently the menu&#8217;s a nod to crowdpleasers of the past, think seafood platters, beef Wellington, baked Alaska and sherry trifle, while signature cocktails will include a frozen martini. And there are also plans for supper clubs this Autumn with legendary jazz club Ronnie Scotts. Chef&#8217;s kiss. </p>

<p>And finally, Thai restaurant Khao Bird is set to make Soho even spicier by taking over a former adult cinema. A popular place to scoff Thai in Brighton, it&#8217;s also got an outpost above The Globe pub in Borough, which you might recognise as <a href="https://london.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/bridget-jones-restaurant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bridget Jones&#8217; flat</a>! Well now it&#8217;s found a more permanent home in Soho where it will be serving dishes fresh off the barbecue (live fire), inspired by Northern Thai cuisine, like corn long ribs and chicken marinated in lemongrass grilled over charcoal with a tamarind sauce, all for an average spend of £35pp. <strong>Opens in October</strong>. </p>
