<p>The Capital&#8217;s a magical place to be at Christmas, with twinkling light trails, Xmas-themed afternoon teas, seasonal concerts and gift shopping galore. Sometimes, however, the thing that makes us feel most festive of all is simple: a great big Christmas tree. Luckily there are plenty of stunning ones dotted about the city, here&#8217;s our pick of the best.</p>

<p>Meet the tallest Christmas tree in London! Situated outside the Pan Pacific Hotel close to Liverpool Street Station, it&#8217;s well worth travelling east to get a festive snap with the 67ft tree which features more than 65,000 sparkling lights and over 800 red and gold baubles. </p>

<p>This tree has been getting a lot of social media attention, and little wonder. The whimsical creation of renowned fashion designer Ashish Gupta, it&#8217;s inspired by childhood memories in India spent assembling an old tinsel tree inherited from his aunt. The result? A kaleidoscope of cool. </p>

<p>The  golden age of Hollywood was the moodboard for artist Maria Rivans&#8217; glam tree<em> It&#8217;s A Wonderful Life</em> tree at 45 Park Lane. If you&#8217;re a movie fan, go visit for the iconic black and white images and stills, while art-lovers will want to see Rivan&#8217;s limited-edition prints and original artwork. Top it off with a meal at CUT which has a white truffle menu until 20 Dec. </p>

<p>For guaranteed festive feels make your way to Covent Garden to gawp at the staggeringly tall tree in the vast, iconic cobbled courtyard. Pop inside the indoor market while you&#8217;re there for gift inspo and decadent decorations (the giant bells and bows are a must-see). </p>

<p>Designer Sir Paul Smith was invited to let loose on the hotel&#8217;s Christmas tree this year and the result is quirky and playful &#8211; a 19ft tree adorned with giant bows, huge baubles and dozens of colourful wooden bird boxes. </p>

<p>How gorgeous is The Ned&#8217;s Christmas tree this year? Designed by the hotel and private members&#8217; club&#8217;s in-house florist Grandiosa, it&#8217;s lit up with nearly 6,000 fairy lights and 2,000 bespoke decs and is inspired by the year&#8217;s hot colour palette &#8211; burgundy with accents of red and gold. So chic. </p>

<p>Loving the lanterns on this nine-foot Nordmann fir on Carlos Place outside the legendary Connaught hotel. Designed by Brit artist Conrad Shawcross, all 90 lanterns are made from aluminium and hand-painted silver. Go see. </p>

<p>Christmas at The Ritz? Err yes please. The outside of hotel on Piccadilly is wonderfully festive and great for scenic pics, but the inside is the real winter wonderland, particularly the enormous tree festooned with red bows and topped by a gold star which light ups the domed ceiling. Live your best life and go for afternoon tea, or pop in to buy a limited edition The Ritz Monopoly Board, the ideal gift for a Londoner. </p>

<p>St Pancras always gives good tree, but this year&#8217;s particularly Instagrammable as the station&#8217;s linked up with Universal Studios to unveil a <em>Wicked</em>-themed Xmas tree. Perfectly timed for the opening of Ariana Grande&#8217;s movie blockbuster based around the Wizard of Oz, it&#8217;s a nod to the Emerald City with dozens of towers, a light up yellow brick road and 1000s of miniature flowers. The collab we never knew we needed this Xmas. </p>

<p>Okay it&#8217;s not strictly a tree (well spotted), but Fluorescence by artist Liz West was launched for the festive period and we love its Christmassy, colourful vibe. You can catch it until the end of Feb.</p>
