Whether you&#8217;re a beginner or seasoned ace there&#8217;s no need to fork out on pricey club memberships when the capital&#8217;s got plenty of posh public courts to play on. Here&#8217;s our pick of the bunch. </p>

<p>If SW18 has captured your imagination, then why not book a court ten minutes away from all the action? Wimbledon Park has a whopping 20 courts, including 10 flood-lit astro turf and 10 hard courts, meaning you can play in any weather, at any time of day. Plus, the colour scheme matches the Championship&#8217;s signature purple and green, meaning you’re pretty much Carolina Muchova at this stage. </p>

<p>There are four courts to hire here, plus a practice wall for anyone who needs to brush up solo. Open to members and non-members, the courts are in good nick and in a great location, plus we love that in summer there are holiday camps for kids and coaching sessions for adults. Post match, you can go for a drink in the park’s lovely cafe.</p>

<p>It’s pay and play all the way on these three popular courts just a ten-minute stroll from South Ealing and Northfields stations. As well as enjoying rallies with friends, you can also book on to weekly tennis drills, or adult tennis courses with LTA coaches, to improve your game. </p>

<p>The ten hard-surface courts at Parliament Hill are open all year round for local residents to use, all you need to do is book online through clubspark . Sessions are a maximum of one-hour and if you think your forehand could do with improvement, there’s an<a href="http://clubspark.lta.org.uk/RudolphSchoolofTennis/Coaching/Adult" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> LTA coach</a> you can book to hone your skills. </p>

<p>Handy if you’re living out east, Bethnal Green’s four pristine flood-lit courts are another winner. The nearest tube’s a five-minute walk away, and there’s the added bonus of a new pop-up padel court built to gauge demand for padel in the area (huge we&#8217;re guessing), which you can book for just £6 per hour (allegedly the cheapest in London). </p>

<p>There are a mighty 16 flood-lit courts at Battersea Millennium Arena, including 13 hard courts and 3 astro. You can book a court for maximum of two hours, hire rackets for £5 each and also book coaching sessions or join Social Tennis sessions to improve your game and meet like-minded Wimbledon wannabes.&nbsp;</p>
