<p>Once you&#8217;ve tried Reformer Pilates, it&#8217;s hard to go back to your usual exercise routine. What makes it so good? The torture chamber-looking equipment helps with alignment, muscle engagement and allows you to get into stretches that you simply can&#8217;t reach via a normal Pilates class (or the gym for that matter). It&#8217;s unique, gives you better posture and core strength and everyone from Meghan Markle to London It girls swear by it. If you&#8217;ve been tempted to give it a go, here&#8217;s where to get your sweat on. </p>

<p>There&#8217;s Pilates, and then there&#8217;s Nobu Pilates. The hotel&#8217;s wellbeing and fitness centre is available to hotel guests and members, meaning you can join London&#8217;s It girls like Olivia Neill in the 24-hour high tech gym and two Reformer Pilates’ studios. If you&#8217;re a newbie, this is a great place to start thanks to the excellent instructors who take you through your paces during one-on-one sessions, plus plenty of classes to join later. <p>A favourite of the Delevigne clan (that&#8217;s Poppy, Cara et al), this gorgeous, exclusive studio was founded by Lauren Masaoka, who learnt her craft in Los Angeles before moving to London to help expand her family&#8217;s chocolate company (but that&#8217;s a whole other story). The floor-to-ceiling windows give great city (rather than ceiling) views while you work out (hence the name), and numbers are super limited (we&#8217;re talking as low as one to three people per class) for a tailored focus. It&#8217;s still worth enquiring if you&#8217;re keen to get expert tuition, however,  because the studio welcomes people of all levels and skills. </p>

With some of the best Reformer Pilates instructors in the city, Heartcore is the one for you if you&#8217;re determined to transform you body (and quite possibly your mind too). It&#8217;s also perfect if you just want to dip your toe into Reformer &#8211; there&#8217;s even a First Timer section on the website which guides you through which class to start with, how to book and what to wear and eat before. <p>Word on the street is that Ten&#8217;s tough, but gets serious results. Its Dynamic Reformer Pilates at studios in <strong>King&#8217;s Cross, Fitzrovia, Nine Elms,&nbsp;St James&#8217;s, Notting Hill, Notting Hill Gate, Little Venice, Hatton Garden, Chiswick</strong> and <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> offer all the postural, flexibility toning and injury-prevention benefits of traditional Pilates, but go a step (make that three steps) further by adding things like circuits, weights and spin. Gulp. Not for the faint-hearted, but the results are remarkable &#8211; lean, toned muscle. Newbies need to book a Beginners session (regardless of your fitness level) to make sure you’re fully informed about the Reformer and get comfortable with the techniques. You&#8217;ve been warned. </p>

That&#8217;s the motto behind this popular health studio and Reformer Pilates hot spot, which has five locations across the capital <strong>(Angel, Hammersmith, Shoreditch, Kings&#8217; Cross </strong>and <strong>Victoria</strong>). Definitely one of the best to book if you&#8217;re a total newbie &#8211; the slower-paced Beginners classes teach you all the basic Pilates techniques, plus get you acquainted with the Reformer bed and different ways it can be used. You&#8217;re asked to do a minimum of three Beginner classes before you hit an Open class &#8211; you have been warned. </p>
