<p>If you&#8217;ve yet to make it to a <strong><a href="http://tastefilm.co.uk/films/chef/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Taste Film</a></strong> immersive event, this weekend&#8217;s your chance because it&#8217;s showing movie <em>Chef</em> with a side food at <strong>The Refinery City Point by Drake &amp; Morgan</strong> (<strong>28-30 March</strong>; <strong>tickets £77.50pp</strong>). We love the concept of eating dishes featured in a movie WHILE YOU WATCH IT, and <em>Chef</em>, about a head chef who quits his restaurant job, buys a food truck and goes on a road trip, is the ideal choice. During the screening you&#8217;ll be tucking into finger-licking good dishes like a Deconstructed Cheese Affair (grilled cheese skillet with butter-fried crisped sourdough) and the Chevy Cubano (pulled pork cubano &amp; fries). <p>Wild swimmers and fashionistas alike will be united in their love of <a href="https://designmuseum.org/exhibitions/splash-a-century-of-swimming-and-style" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style</a> which opens this weekend at <strong>The Design Museum</strong> <strong>(28 March – 17 Aug)</strong>. Charting swimwear and the evolution of swimming from the 1920s through to the present day, there are more than 200 exhibits including Pamela Anderson’s eye-popping red&nbsp;<em>Baywatch&nbsp;</em>swimsuit, the first Olympic solo swimming gold medal won by a British woman, a selection of questionable men’s Speedos and one of the earliest surviving examples of a bikini. <p>If you love a murder mystery, you&#8217;re going to want to get involved in the inaugural <a href="The Festival of Women Writing Crime" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Deadly: The Festival of Women Writing Crime</a> at <strong>The British Library</strong> on Saturday <strong>(29 March; tickets £21)</strong>. A celebration of the best in contemporary crime writing by women, it features non-fiction as well as fiction, and there&#8217;s a packed schedule of speakers including legends of British crime fiction,&nbsp;<strong>Ann Cleeves</strong> and&nbsp;<strong>Denise Mina</strong>, who will be revealing the inside track on their craft, while&nbsp;<em>The Five</em>&nbsp;author&nbsp;<strong>Hallie Rubenhold</strong>&nbsp;launches her highly anticipated new book,&nbsp;<em>Story of a Murder: The Wives, the Mistress and Dr Crippen</em>.</p>

From comical characters like Captain Pugwash and Captain Hook to anti-heroes like Long John Silver and Captain Jack Sparrow,&nbsp;it&#8217;s a deep dive into pirate history and why a pirate’s life, whether real of make believe, still fascinates us today. Recommended for ages 7+. </p>

<p><strong>The British Museum&#8217;s</strong> <a href="Printmaker" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Picasso: Printmaker</a> exhibition closes this weekend <strong>(tickets £11; runs until 30 March)</strong>, so get down there pronto if you want to see some of the 2,400 prints the artist made during his career. It features work from made the early 1900s, before and after Picasso&#8217;s breakthrough painting<em>&nbsp;Les Demoiselles d&#8217;Avignon</em>&nbsp;(1907), which paved the way for Cubism, plus a group of prints from the&nbsp;<em>Vollard Suite</em>, a series of 100 etchings made in the 1930s that shows the influence of classical art on Picasso&#8217;s work (and reflects his tumultuous personal life!). Go see. </p>
