<p>The world&#8217;s longest, tallest covered slide is back! Built for the Olympics back in 2012 it was an instant hit and, after reopening in March this year, Londoners once again can&#8217;t get enough of the slide which can propel you to speeds of up to 15mph through twists, turns and drops. The 178m Helix slide wraps around the ArcelorMittal Orbit 12 times and ends with thrillingly tight corkscrew bends. Go try. </p>

<p>How do you fancy climbing to the top of the Millennium Dome (sorry, O2)? For the ascent you&#8217;re strapped on to a cable, so it&#8217;s super safe yet &#8216;exhilarating&#8217;, which translated means a bit scary if you haven&#8217;t got a head for heights. Verdict: it&#8217;s honestly worth the shaky hands because the city views from the top are sensational and your sense of achievement will be colossal. </p>

<p>The downside of this daredevil activity is that it takes place at Tottenham Hotspur football stadium, so if you&#8217;re a footie fan who loathes Spurs this isn&#8217;t an option. Everyone else, however, can clip on a harness and step out onto the open air platform that rings the stadium. If you want more thrills you can add on The Edge, a <em>free-fall&nbsp;</em>42-metre abseil from the stadium roof. Terrifying. </p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve never attempted the high rope course at Ally Pally it&#8217;s easy to assume it&#8217;s just a playground for kids. It&#8217;s not. Muddy can tell you from personal experience that some of the treetop challenges, platforms and zip lines are actually really high and quite scary. Not that we&#8217;d ever admit to getting stuck half way around and having to be coaxed off a small wooden platform moving in the wind while we clung on. More fun (and thrilling) than you think. </p>

<p>A jolly jaunt along the River Thames doesn&#8217;t sound like it will get your adrenalin pumping, right? Wrong. These speedboat excursions are London&#8217;s fastest river rides, blasting along the Thames at speeds of up to 35mph with the occasional pulse-racing turn thrown in, so seatbelts are most definitely needed. Think of it like a 50-minute sightseeing tour Bond-style, with funny guides and a killer soundtrack too. </p>

<p>If you see climbing walls as kids&#8217; activities, think again, because these vertiginous hangouts are actually a fantastic way to keep fit (you can burn up to 800 calories an hour climbing!), great for mental health (you&#8217;re not thinking about much else other than clinging on) and it&#8217;s a real thrill to jump back down from the top &#8211; at Muddy&#8217;s first session we refused to let go and had to climb all the way back down, which was interesting.  </p>
