<p><a href="https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/leigh-bowery" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leigh Bowery</a>&#8216;s short but uniquely remarkable life will be celebrated at Tate Modern from Mon 27 Feb, and we can&#8217;t wait. He wore a lot of different hats, literally and figuratively – he was artist, performer, model, TV personality, club promoter, fashion designer and musician, known across the board for his taboo-busting tastes. This eclectic and immersive exhibition will allow you to experience his many &#8216;looks&#8217; and see their influence across all that we have considered &#8216;cool&#8217; ever since. Yep, Leigh&#8217;s pretty cutting edge.</p>

<p>We might have left brat summer in 2024, but Charli XCX remains a worldwide cultural sensation and easily one of the best performers in the world. She&#8217;s been lifting the roof off stadiums and festivals from Birmingham to Barcelona, Brisbane and Buenos Aires and she&#8217;s back in London this summer at <a href="https://www.lidofestival.co.uk/events/charli-xcx-sat-14-june/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lido Festival</a> on Sat 14 Jun. Lord knows what she has up her sleeve this time, but you can be sure it&#8217;ll be jaw-dropping from start to finish.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been 17 years since Ewan McGregor treaded UK boards, and his return in <a href="https://www.wyndhamstheatre.co.uk/whats-on/my-master-builder"><em>My Master Builder</em></a> at the Wyndham Theatre is set to be one of <em>the</em> theatre events of the year. The play is a reworking of Henrik Ibsen&#8217;s 1892 drama <em>The Master Builder</em> by US playwright Lila Raicek, where McGregor will play an architect whose life is shaken by the appearance of a young woman who claims he propositioned her in the past. In the age of #MeToo it looks like Mr Ibsen was rather ahead of his time, and we can&#8217;t wait to see Raicek and Grandage&#8217;s modern spin on the classic come April.</p>

<p>A new V&amp;A, I hear you cry? Not quite &#8211; try two new V&amp;As. Yep, everyone&#8217;s favourite London museum and gallery is expanding to <a href="https://www.vam.ac.uk/east" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">two new venues</a> in East London and we are absolutely buzzing about it. The V&amp;A East Storehouse in Stratford promises to house half a million artefacts from every creative discipline, and will be the first museum ever (yep, ever) to run an &#8216;Order an Object&#8217; experience &#8211; you can book to see any one of these artefacts, seven days a week. There will also be a permanent David Bowie Centre displaying 80,000 significant objects from across his lifetime. The V&amp;A East Museum will open later (date unconfirmed) with an exhibition about Black British music.</p>

<p>Scottish-born music producer known as <a href="https://www.allpointseastfestival.com/events/barry-cant-swim-fri-22-august/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Barry Can&#8217;t Swim</a> hit the big time in 2023 with his Mercury Prize-nominated album <em>Where Will We Land?</em> and was among the most celebrated DJs (and coolest dudes) in the world last year. He&#8217;s &#8216;in&#8217; in 2025, no question – get with it, and get tickets to see him at the wonderful Victoria Park fest All Points East this August. Have a glance at the lineup on Saturday and Sunday too – the hugely talented <a href="https://www.allpointseastfestival.com/events/raye-sat-23-august/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Raye</a> and her awesome band put on a show like no other too, and they&#8217;re headlining Saturday. We feel a wild weekender on the horizon&#8230;</p>

<p>And finally, one for spa-ficionados. The much-anticipated UK debut of Six Senses opens near Hyde Park this summer as an urban wellness paradise. The design of the 109 rooms incorporates contemporary British art and will apparently mirror a variety of aspects of London (whatever that means). Its 3,500sqm spa, inspired by vintage London Underground design, features a 20m pool, sensory suite, treatment rooms, and biohacking lounge. Throw in a lush lobby bar, brasserie with courtyard seating, and a private members’ club, Six Senses Place, with a bar, restaurant, and co-working space – we might just be looking at <em>the</em> London hotel opening of 2025.</p>
