Founded by long time writer, Lynne Evans, after she began writing down her father’s stories when he was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2021. Memorialising his stories in book form, and the joy it has brought her, and her family, kickstarted her wish to do this for other people too. And so, after a lifelong admiration of Roald Dahl’s own writing shed in Great Missenden, The Memory Shed was born.

Now Lynne scribes life stories for people for all manner of reasons, be it to keep a part of someone alive, to continue a family legacy or for just the most gorgeous gift you’ll ever receive. The process from jumbled memories in your mind to book, begins with a conversation so Lynne can understand your motivations. The next step is a memory forage where you’ll mine for your memories using useful prompts supplied by Lynne as well as further conversations with her either online, over the phone or in person. Though you aren’t writing it, Lynne ensures you are involved at every juncture from book structure and tone to the front cover design – it is your life story after all. When the book is ready you’ll receive it in a beautiful keepsake box as well as a digital copy to share with others.
