<p>After a Hans Wegner chair or obsessing over an Eames sofa? This store&#8217;s going to put a big smile on your face as the stock (in-store and online) is out of this world when it comes to covetable vintage furniture in immaculate condition. There&#8217;s also art work to browse and lighting too *adds Artek pendant light to basket*. </p>

<p>Hands up if you love a bargain? Well this Hackney Wick warehouse is a treasure trove of mid-century design hand-sourced from Denmark and prices start at a <em>very</em> purse-friendly £15 (crockery) and don&#8217;t go above £2500 (furniture). Set up by Nina Hertig, co-founder of Sigmar gallery in Chelsea, it&#8217;s totally worth a trawl online and in person. </p>

<p>Tat London is an online vintage store set up by Charlie Porter as a side hustle while working as a stylish for House &amp; Garden, now it&#8217;s a full-time job with a shop selling beautiful vintage pieces, from Art Deco table lamps to 19th Century mirrors, art and even some Tat branded items, plus a blog and job vacancies in the interiors world. </p>

<p>It&#8217;s not the largest retro furniture shop in London, but it&#8217;s definitely one of the coolest. Pops of colour are its USP: think bright orange Bauhaus chairs or a vivid green Murano glass vase. The perfect place to mooch around after checking out Portobello Market, it&#8217;s open Thurs-Sun, or by appointment. </p>

<p>Defiantly worth a visit if you&#8217;re madly into mid-century Scandinavian furniture as this store, opened in 2015, has some good-looking, competitively priced pieces hand-picked by owners and enthusiasts João Vitor &amp; Djihan. Not that it&#8217;s only sleek side cabinets and minimalist chairs, their stock of well-known brands and designers extends from the 1940s through to the 1980s. Go see. </p>

<p>South London that&#8217;s a go-to for interior enthusiasts and interior designers. Aficionados love to linger over the plentiful  stock of sympathetically restored pieces, and they can even help source specific pieces if you&#8217;re currently obsessing. Also, delivery&#8217;s free to mainland UK. Refreshing. </p>

<p>A potter round the Old Cinema is never a wasted trip if you find yourself with an hour to spare in west London. The mid-century collection is always being topped up and has the more affordable Ercol items alongside the more striking – and eye wateringly-priced – rarer finds.</p>

<p>With more than ten years in the business, this Aladdin’s Cave is a hotspot for vintage and retro finds and a little more at the affordable end with prices tending towards three figures, rather than four. </p>

<p>Situated on Southgate Road, this place has a bit of a cult following for its bright and bold British and Danish furniture from the 50s, 60s and 70s. It&#8217;s a real joy to lose an hour browsing the rotating stock, last time we popped in on a Sunday (11am-6pm) there were some choice pieces including a highly desirable mini bar, lava lamp and funky sofas. </p>
