<p>Heading down the hallway into Hijingo feels like stepping into a space ship. Inside, it&#8217;s all futuristic floor-to-ceiling LED lights, surround-sound music and the role of the bingo caller has been replaced by two cyborg-esque dancers (see above). You&#8217;ll play two games of bingo over 90 minutes (£12-20 depending on your slot time), which includes six chances to win cash, gift items or even a holiday! Glitzy, glamorous, adrenaline-fuelled, heart-pounding &#8211; who knew bingo could be <em>this</em> exciting?</p>

<p>If human chefs aren&#8217;t doing it for you, how about a meal at the <a href="https://www.yariclub.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yari Club</a> in Covent Garden? It&#8217;s out with the old and in with a robo-chef capable of making yakitori skewers by itself from start to finish. Yep, it&#8217;s the invention none of us knew we needed. Humans are required only to load the skewers into the machine, at which point Gordon Ramsey-3PO takes over and grilled, dipped and seasoned skewers pop out on the other end. The eight varieties of yakitori look divine (£2.50 per skewer, £11.90 for five), and gimmick or gold, Muddy&#8217;s gotta see this futuristic feast in action. </p>

<p>Inamo seems like somewhere that could have been designed by a giddy nine-year-old, but has delighted the childish side of millions of happy adult customers. Basically, your table is a touch-screen tablet which you use to order your food and entertain yourself with retro games like air-hockey or space invaders while you wait. There&#8217;s nothing immature about the fare though, with a large range of top pan-Asian food such as sushi, bao buns and gyoza. </p>

<p>Is this the future of live music? ABBA has given fans the chance to experience their timeless tracks live in the modern day using ABBA-tars of their younger selves. That&#8217;s right, Swedish holograms hopping about just like they did in &#8217;79. Once you get past the initial &#8216;Woah, they look so real!&#8217;, it&#8217;s a full-length concert with all the hits, accompanied by a live band and interspersed with bits of background on the story behind the band and the stories. Please dress appropriately &#8211; dig out the long blonde wigs, the bell-bottoms and all things sequin.</p>

<p>Ever worn a VR headset? Whether it appeals to you or not, it&#8217;s well worth a go, and Navrtar is the UK&#8217;s largest &#8216;free-roam&#8217; VR space which happens to also be a restaurant and bar. If you get over the initial cringe-factor, it&#8217;s pretty compelling. Your whole group can enter the virtual domain together and play as a team in various mini-games: fight to survive the zombie apocalypse, complete challenges in the fantasy land of Faragor or explore the Arctic. Chill out in the bar after a 60-minute session with a drink and homemade pizza.</p>

<p>There are some pretty impressive escape rooms out there these days, but the power of VR has upped the anti. At locations on Southbank or in Aldgate, you can peer down at Earth in an escape scenario set on the Moon, search for artefacts in the world of Indiana Jones or sail the wine-dark sea in the Odyssey &#8211; the possibilities are endless. Worth a go for escape room purists and newbies alike, it starts at about £80 and games are for 2-12 people.</p>

<p>No other cocktail bar delivers the same level of futuristic theatrics as The Alchemist. Think drinks served in clamps over a blue flame, colour-changing cocktails, and you can expect your table to be completely covered in smoke at some point during the evening.
